Happy Friday! The last few weeks have been long and hectic, so I’m planning to lay low for a few days in my cozy apartment. Maybe I’ll dive back into the books I’d set aside before the holidays or make a dent in long list of documentaries in my Netflix queue, but mostly I just want to rest. Next week, I’m excited to share a few photos from breathtaking Yosemite, which we were lucky enough to visit earlier this month. With all this chilly/snowy/icy east coast weather, I’m always happy to revisit a few California memories, and Yosemite could not have been more beautiful.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Yay for the weekend and upcoming holidays! We’re kicking off the season of celebration tonight with our annual (day after) Beaujolais Nouveau Day party. Cheap wine and lots of cheese are my idea of a perfect night, and I definitely look forward to this one all year long. Here are a few photos from past celebrations. While its a great night for cheap wine, I tend to get a little carried away with the cheeses.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Winter has been moving in this week, which can be so hard after the loveliness of summer and fall. This year I’m trying to find ways to appreciate the colder season, instead of being taken over by the winter blues like last year. I’m planning to cozy up inside with warm blankets, a steaming mug of tea, and maybe make a dent in my Netflix queue. There’s an entire series of House Hunters International with my name written all over it.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Happy Halloween! Instead of dressing up or handing out candy, we’re packing our bags and heading up to New Jersey for the weekend. Fall is such a nice time of year to spend time with family and anytime is a great time to snuggle with cute babies.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Yay for a fall weekends! While we are bummed to be missing out on one last west coast wedding and all the lovely people gathered there, it’s undoubtedly a gorgeous time of year to be stuck on the east coast. We’re planning to rent a car and take a day trip to the Shenandoah Valley to enjoy the crisp weather and autumn colors. If we’re lucky, maybe we’ll find a little fresh apple cider to enjoy along the way.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Hectic weeks can be exhausting but so rewarding! I spent a few days traveling in the Midwest for work, and now I’m back in California for another west coast wedding! I just love it here so much and I’m happy to be seeing so many friends and excited to spend a little time exploring Venice Beach, before heading up to Monterey. California, I just love you so much; almost as much as the gorgeous sunflowers we saw while driving around on little roads in Massachusetts. Those sunny blooms are just like my mood these days.
Have a great weekend!

Don’t you love short weeks? I’m happy for another weekend, as well as a little break from the steamy weather we’ve been having lately. We’re planning to see a few friends, and if it isn’t too rainy, catch a ballgame. If we do get rained out, I’ll just try to brighten things up indoors by picking up a few blossoms, like these lovely yellow and red Butterfly Weeds that I got last weekend from the Women’s Coop in Bethesda.
Hope you have a great weekend!
[Edit 8:30am] Turns out my flowers lived up to their name! After almost a week on our dining room table, I suddenly noticed two giant caterpillars munching away on the leaves! Those little guys got set free outside before I left for work, but I’m sure their new bush is nowhere near as tasty as my flowers.

A long weekend is upon us and we have big plans to do… not much. We’re staying in town and planning to spend three days taking naps, working through our Netflix queue, and having a few romantic picnics on the roof-deck. It sounds pretty dreamy to me.
Have a great weekend!

Hooray for the weekend! Our summer of almost non-stop traveling has finally come to an end and we’ll be spending more time at home until late-September. It’s been an amazing time, full of friends, food and adventure, and I have lots of photos to share over the coming weeks.
In the meantime, I’m hoping to catch a few naps, have some cuddle time with my guy, and savor the late-summer offerings at my local farmers market.
Hope you have a great weekend!

After one lovely, restful weekend at home, we’re heading back out on the road. This time we have back-to-back wedding weekends out-of-state, so we’re spending the next few days catching up with the Mister’s good friends in the Pacific-northwest, and then with mine in the mid-west. Here’s to an exciting week of travel.
Have a great weekend!

After another lovely week spent in Monterey, we’re packing up our bags and heading north to Sonoma for a few days. This is the first visit for both of us, so we are excited to explore the area. Wine is definitely on the agenda, as well as a few bike rides and, hopefully, some amazing food.
Hope you have a great weekend!

It’s been a long and hectic few weeks here in DC, and I’m relieved to be heading for California today. Though I’ll be working remotely for most of the time that I’m there, there is something so rejuvenating about a change of scenery. Here’s to cooler days, bike rides by the seaside, and a little taste of wine country.
Have a great weekend!

I’m Austin-bound today for my sister’s high school graduation. Being home and surrounded by family always feels so good, and I’m looking forward to Mexican food, a few hours at the pool, and spending some time with my parents and siblings.
The photo above, of my little sis, is about six years old, but it’s one of my favorites. She has always been my favorite muse, and I’m excited to see what she’ll do in the world.
Have a lovely weekend!

After several weekends spent on the road, a quiet weekend at home starts to sound heavenly. This weekend, I’m happy for the normalcy of sleeping in my own bed, going to the farmer’s market, and catching up on episodes of Parks and Rec. There’s a charity craw-fish boil on our radar, which sounds fun and delicious, but mostly I’m looking forward to a little downtime hanging out in my city.
Hope you have a great weekend!

Aren’t these baby pants just too adorable!?! I have a bunch of friends who are expecting or just had little ones, and I had fun picking out sweet, little baby things while I was in Paris. These teensy red striped pants went via mail to a friends who had a baby recently. The Mister and I couldn’t get over the cuteness of the tiny little sailboat stitched onto the tiny little back pocket.
Speaking of baby clothes, this weekend we were invited to a baby shower in New Jersey, so we decided to make a weekend out of it and celebrate our anniversary while we’re up there. I’m really looking forward to beach time in a cute seaside town.
Hope you have a great weekend!

As much as I’d be happy to be back in Paris right now, ideally in this pink-treed park, I’m excited for the weekend. The Mister has a big birthday coming up soon, so we’re having a little party to celebrate on Saturday. It’s always wonderful to gather up friends and family, and, in a way, it feels like a little bit of a kick off for the fun and busy summer ahead.
Here are a few photos of a lovely park we found near the Jardin de Reuilly. Every single tree was blooming pink, and as we sat on the benches showers of blush-colored petals rained down us. Hope you have a great weekend!

Today is our last full day in Paris and I’m a little sad that the week has flown by so quickly. We’ve had the loveliest weather and have taken full advantage by spending hours in the various gorgeous parks and sitting at outdoor cafe tables.
I’ll be back next week with more photos from our travels, but for now, here’s what I’ve been up to on Instagram. Have a great weekend!
